Ethics and Compliance Program
Prairie Sunset Home (PSH) maintains an Ethics and Compliance program to communicate its commitment to uncompromising integrity in accordance with the corporate values, and to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. The Prairie Sunset Home (PSH) Ethics and Compliance program is designed to promote an organizational culture that encourages ethical conduct, a commitment to PSH mission, values, and compliance with the law and related regulations. Corporate Policy, Ethical Business Conduct, the PSH code of conduct related policies and management instructions constitute the Prairie Sunset Home standards of conduct.
The PSH encourages employees, residents, and other interested persons to raise questions or concerns with management related to Ethics and Compliance. The PSH Ethics & Compliance Hotline/Helpline is provided as a confidential means of communication separate from line management. It is available to employees, residents, and other interested persons to discuss any ethics or compliance question or concern, to seek clarification or guidance about the PSH standards of conduct, or to report potential wrongdoing or inappropriate conduct in the company.
The Prairie Sunset Home (PSH) Ethics and Compliance Officer (ECO) is appointed by the PSH Board of Directors to provide initial point of contact on PSH Ethics and Compliance Helpline. Currently, Kim Lampe, a member of the PSH Board of Directors, serves as the Ethics and Compliance Officer (ECO). All communication through the PSH web-based Hotline/Helpline go directly to the ECO. The ECO reports periodically to the Board of Directors on the status of the company’s ethics and compliance program and related activities. Measures are taken to maintain confidentiality, protect anonymity and eliminate fear of retaliation;
Ethical Business Standards of Conduct
All PSH employees will observe and maintain high standards of ethical conduct in their relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, communities, fellow employees, and others, wherever they work. Any action taken by PSH or its employees, representatives, or agents must be fully justifiable and not raise questions as to the company’s honesty, impartiality, reputation, or otherwise cause embarrassment to the company.
PSH employees must avoid any interest, relationship or outside activity that could affect the objectivity in making decisions concerning his or her PSH duties and responsibilities. The standards of conduct also apply to members of the Board of Directors, agents, shareholders, consultants, contract personnel, licensors, and others, when they are representing or acting for, or on behalf of, PSH. PSH employees will act in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Conduct that is prohibited under PSH policy or does not comply with laws and regulations may not be accomplished on behalf of PSH by anyone outside the company.
Retaliation against employees who come forward to raise concerns will not be tolerated. Threats or acts of retribution against any employee for proper use of any company reporting mechanism is cause for appropriate discipline, up to and including termination.
